I can't believe the school year is over already. This has been a wonderful year and I couldn't have asked for a better group of students. I will miss each of them as they move on to their next adventure, Howe Manning. Have a wonderful summer, and I hope to see everyone next year.
This week we completed our last math unit, Geometry. For a final project the students each created a geometric monster. This project involved using different types of polygons; closed vs. open shapes; isosceles and equilateral triangles; acute, obtuse, right, and straight angles; and intersecting and parallel lines. The students had a great time and made some interesting looking monsters.
Thank you to Jill and Joe Eberhardt and Ruthann Santangelo for planning and organizing this amazing field day! Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who were able to volunteer their time and make it fun and special for all of the children. They had a blast!

Obstacle Course Fun!
The Mass Audubon visited Fuller Meadow and did a wonderful program with the second graders about insects in our school yard. The students worked in teams to hunt for insects in the courtyard and then went inside to learn about ladybugs and honeybees. It was fun and educational at the same time.
Look at how many insects and other creatures the second graders found!

Coin War Slush Party!
The students were so excited to celebrate their Coin Wars win. We celebrated with Italian Ice and extra recess time. Yippee! Thank you for donating all of the change to help us win.
The amazing and talented Mark Rothstein visited our school. His messages of trying hard, being positive, being honest, and being happy with ourselves were met with enthused cheers as he showed off his rope jumping talents. Here are some highlights from his visit.
Our very own Cam gave rope jumping his best effort. We were so proud of him when Mark switched out the regular jump rope for a 5 pounder. Way to go Cam!
Second Grade Workshop:; Teaching us to try our best and be heart healthy!
Today the second grade students attended a wonderful performance about the life of Helen Keller. They learned about her life before and after she lost her hearing and vision. They learned about the challenges she faced and overcame, and most importantly they learned that an individual who is blind and /or deaf can do many of the things that sighted and hearing people do. They just do them differently. They were an attentive audience and asked thoughtful questions after.
