Each week your child is introduced to 3 new words. These popcorn words, also known as sight words, are words that regularly pop up in Kindergarten reading and writing.

Throughout the week, your child will practice identifying, reading, and writing these words. They will take their new words home at the beginning of each week. They will also keep a copy of the words in their book box, here at school so they can practice. 


Week 1: the, to, and
Week 2: a, I, see
Week 3: it, my, like
Week 4: for, up, look
Week 5: is, go, we
Week 6: little, here, can
Week 7: you, this, said
Week 8: in, me, big
Week 9: come, blue, red
Week 10: where, jump, away
Week 11: down, help, make
Week 12: yellow, two, play
Week 13: run, find, three
Week 14: funny, he, was
Week 15: that, she, on
Week 16: they, but, at
Week 17: with, all, there
Week 18: out, be have
